Gresham Hunt are currently partnered with a globally renowned financial institution in their search for an experience Privacy Lawyer to join their growing EMEA Privacy Legal team, based in London or Dublin.
Responsibilities:

Providing legal advice on privacy, data-sharing, transfer of data outside of Europe and the UK.

Engaging in the drafting, negotiating and reviewing of any commercial agreement containing information law clauses.

Drafting and advising on complex data protection-related documentation such as data processing agreements and data transfer agreements, representative agreements and privacy impact assessments.

Support the EMEA Privacy team with internal privacy framework development and internal employee training material.

Provide legal advice on issues raised by personal data breaches, cyber security incidents, including notification requirements to individuals or regulators.

Providing guidance and support on various new compliance reporting/data tracking requirements and revisions to internal codes of conduct.
Your Background:

Qualified lawyer (4-7 years PQE) with training from a top tier practice with strong post qualified experience in data protection/privacy in a legal setting.

You will have strong knowledge of major data protection laws in the EU and UK such as GDPR, UK DPA, PECR and EDPB.

In-house legal experience (directly, or as a secondee), ideally within Financial Services or Investment management would be beneficial.

Experience in M&A or Corporate Law and HR Privacy would be highly desirable.

Hold relevant industry certifications such as CIPP/E, CIPP/US, CIPM.

Strong commercial understanding, and excellent interpersonal skills.
